Let's Detox

Another New Year and the ideal time to remove, restore and re-energize!. What better what to accomplish this than by doing a New Year detox!

Why Detox? Because toxins are everywhere and they are harmful to your body and overall health. All toxins are stored in fat in the body. Toxins come from chemicals in cleaning products, paint, plastics, fuel exhaust, skincare and cosmetics, metals, pollutants and inhalants in the air, medications. People taking hormones need to detox to remove the excess hormonal waste stored in their body. Toxins are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the environment in which we live.

The benefits of a good detox program are numerous and vast and these are just a few of the great results that come from detoxing.

Rids the Body of Excess Waste: The liver is protective when working effectively, but we store toxins back in the body causing toxic overload. The primary purpose to detox is to aid the liver, as well as, the kidneys and colon to rid itself of any excess waste it’s been storing. By cleansing the colon with fruits and vegetables as part of the detoxing process toxins can exit the body as opposed to being reintroduced into the body. Continuing with a diet rich in whole fruits and vegetables after the detox is also a great way to keep things moving.

Boosts Your Energy: When detoxing you’re greatly reducing the amount of the things that caused the need to detox to begin with, we call this the toxic burden. By reducing your intake of sugar, caffeine, trans fat, saturated fat, and replacing them with fresh fruits and vegetables, you’ll be getting a natural energy boost, one that comes without a latent crash. In addition it’s imperative to adequately hydrate while on any detox program, which can also allow for an increase in energy especially if you don’t usually consume the appropriate amount of water your body needs throughout the day.

Aids Weight Loss: It’s obvious that short term weight loss will occur with a detox program, but for the long term this is just the beginning of establishing healthy eating habits, while also doing away with unhealthy habits. As an added bonus with your newfound energy you can become more active overall which will only continue to ensure successful long term weight loss.

Strengthens Immune System: Your immune system receives a boost since your body will be able to absorb nutrients better. Many detox programs help the lymphatic system, which plays a big role in keeping you healthy and firing on all cylinders. Light exercise while you detox further helps by circulating lymph fluid through the body and help it to drain, and thereby strengthening your immune system.

Anti-Aging Benefits: The barrage of toxins that the body is exposed to daily is one contributing factor to the aging process. By reducing the amount of free radical damage done to your body, you’ll not only see short term benefits, but also long term benefits in an increased longevity.

Clearer Mind: A good detox program will benefit your state of mind during the process by cutting out many of the sugar-filled and fat-filled foods that surround us each day that cause us to feel lethargic and can factor heavily in the quality of our thinking.

Promotes Healthy Habits: It’s hard to change a long-standing habit, but a detox program can put be the turning point away from your old ways and toward new healthy habits and onto a healthier new you!

When you finish your detox program, it’s very important to keep the momentum going and not to rebound back into the lifestyle that was causing the toxicity. Sticking to an improved diet rich in whole fruits, vegetables and lean proteins combined with getting daily activity is the ideal way to make sure that you feel good each moment of your life.
